Iowa wrestling legend Dan Gable was in Charles City earlier this month to speak to farmers, ag business leaders and grappling enthusiasts.
Gable was one of the featured speakers for Viafield’s Winter Ag Expo at the Floyd County Fairgrounds. He said girls wrestling has taken off, thanks in large part to northeast Iowa.
Gable told the audience that farming is a lot like wrestling. On the wrestling mat, it’s you alone against your opponent, while farming can often be you alone in the field or in the barn trying to make your farm a success.
