New Hampton Inclusive Playground Fundraising Approaches $300,000
Fundraising for “Kindness Square,” New Hampton’s Inclusive Playground Project, is approaching $300,000.
In a Facebook post, Park-Rec Coordinator Tara Hackman proclaimed “The giving spirit is alive!” as she recognized recent donations totalling over $20,000. Those contributions bring the total amount raised through Thursday (December 22nd) to $295,963.06.
Recent donations include $15,000 from Vern Laures Auto Center; $5,000 from Black Hills Energy; $2,000 from Knights of Columbus Council #1697; and $1,500 from New Hampton Area Charity Pullers.
Fundraising has now surpassed 85% of the $350,000 goal.
Hackman says construction of the playground is projected to be built and open by late next summer in New Hampton’s Runion Park.
