New Chickasaw County Ambulance Service Continues to Takes Shape

Now less than two weeks before it begins operation, Chickasaw County’s new County-run ambulance service is looking more official by the day.

During Monday’s regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Joel Knutson, new director of the Chickasaw County EMS department, said both ambulance rigs are now in the County’s possession.

Knutson added that a site inspection of the ambulances by the state was scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

In ambulance-related action by the Board, Supervisors approved a month-to-month lease for temporary housing of ambulance on-call staff until a permanent facility is established. Supervisors also approved almost $4,500 in ARPA money to have the County’s new, primary, ambulance be wrapped with the Chickasaw County EMS logos.
