Charles City’s Thomson to Represent Iowa House District 58 

A Charles City Republican has been elected to represent the new Iowa House District 58.

Charley Thomson has defeated Charles City Democrat Dene Lundberg by receiving 59% to serve the new district that includes all of Chickasaw County, the majority of Floyd County including Charles City, and the eastern two-thirds of Bremer County east of, but not including, Waverly.

In the race for Iowa Senate District 29, Republican Sandy Salmon easily defeated Democrat Jenn Wullf after garnering 65% of the ballots cast Tuesday. The new district will include the majority of Floyd County, plus all of Chickasaw, Butler and Bremer counties.

Republican Waylon Brown has defeated Democrat Whitney Mixdorf to represent the new Iowa Senate District 30, which will include Mitchell, Worth and Cerro Gordo counties, plus the northwest corner of Floyd County.
