Possibly for the first time, the annual Halloween Parade in New Hampton will actually happen on Halloween.
Before the parade Saturday (Oct. 31) morning, Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman says those wishing to have their costumes judged for prizes need to report to New Hampton Parks & Recreation by 10 AM, with special light up trick-or-treat bags available for early arrivals.
Hackman says costume winners will get to lead the parade towards Main Street starting at 10:30 am.
Hackman says the parade’s popularity continues to grow.

Hackman adds that trick-or-treating in New Hampton also continues Halloween night from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
The same trick-or-treat hours are set for Saturday night in Charles City.
