Still Time to Register for CCPD Citizen’s Police Academy

Registrations are still being accepted for the 2022 Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) presented by the Charles City Police Department and NIACC.

Chief Hugh Anderson says participants will learn various aspects of police work from the various officers on the force.

Anderson notes that there are new officers in the department, including recent (and official) Policy Academy graduates, Rhett Belew and Cody Blunt. There’s also Brad Billharz, a 20-year veteran of the CCPD and lead detective who investigates crimes big and small.

The CPA will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday nights for eight weeks starting September 6th at the Charles City NIACC Center. The program is free for adults, but space is limited.
