An in-depth look at the future of the Lions Field municipal swimming pool in Charles City is underway.
Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says his staff has completed their “leak test” of the pool and has sent that info to the company studying the current facility, which will include an onsite look which started Tuesday.
Mitchell says Task 1 of the pool study will look at extending the life of the current pool as well as addition of new amenities. The results will determine if they move to Task 2, which would look at the possibility of building a new pool.
The Lion’s Field Pool in Charles City was built with a shelf-life of 25 years and is now over 30 years old.
