A Charles City man has pleaded guilty to enticing a minor in Mitchell County.
23-year-old John Onken was arrested by Osage Police last November for exchanging text, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat messages of a sexual nature with a girl under the age of 13. Authorities say the contacts started on or around October 18, 2021 and continued for about a three week period and included attempts by Onken to meet the victim.
Onken has pleaded guilty to enticing a minor under 13 – sexual abuse or exploitation, a Class C felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 9th.
