In Remembrance of Bob Svec

On Monday, May 31, 2021, the Coloff Media family lost our “Chubby Little Buddy” Bob Svec.  Bob came to work for Coloff Media in 2017 after a successful law enforcement career in Iowa.

Bob was known as a bit of a prankster and will be remembered for his one-liners and creativity on the airwaves.  He was the epitome of a local radio host, as he was very involved in the community with his appearances and work in the area schools and FFA chapters.  Bob was awarded an Honorary FFA Chapter membership for his work.

Bob is well known for his daily chicken dance during the 10 o’clock Tickle, which led to he and 95.1 The Bull organizing the “world’s largest chicken dance”, which was attended by more than 300 people in downtown New Hampton.

“Bob often told people that radio saved his life after his law enforcement career came to an abrupt end due to a health condition,” said Jim Coloff, Coloff Media owner and general manager.  “But really it was Bob who gave new life to our radio station, KCZE 95.1 The Bull.  His creativity and devotion to local radio set The Bull on a new course of growth and community service we didn’t have before Bob arrived.”

We miss you, our Chubby Little Buddy.

Here are some of the memories we all share of our co-worker and friend, Bob Svec.
