Chickasaw County EMA Appreciation Night Held Tuesday in New Hampton

 EMS Appreciation Night Tuesday night in New Hampton served a dual purpose.

Bridget Edson is with the Chickasaw County Rescue Squad and serves as Chair of the County’s Ambulance Advisory Committee. She said the invitation-only event was designed to say “thanks” to current EMR, EMT, and/or paramedics serving within the county.  

Edson added that organizers hoped the gathering would also serve as a recruiting tool for the new county-run ambulance service.

Edson believes the new Chickasaw County EMS will offer competitive pay.

MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center hosted the EMS Appreciation at the Chickasaw Event Center. 

Edson says a town hall-type meeting also may be in the works to provide information to people who might be interested in training to become part of the ambulance staff.
