Chickasaw County Attorney Laudner Marks One Year on the Job

October 1st marked one year on the job for Chickasaw County Attorney David Laudner.

Laudner was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to take over the position vacated by Jennifer Schwickerath, who left the County Attorney’s office to return to private practice. Laudner says the job comes with a lot of variety.

In his first year as County Attorney, Laudner says he’s proud of saving the County money by eliminating the full-time assistant attorney position and contracting as-needed assistance from outside counsel; streamlining the process for prosecuting criminal cases that have benefited both law enforcement and defense attorneys; and there his increased work with the Board of Supervisors.

Laudner says his legal responsibilities also extend to the rest of the County.

Laudner also serves as the top legal prosecutor for criminal cases that generate from the New Hampton Police Department.

Laudner’s appointed term ends on December 31, which means he’ll run for election this November to retain his position for another four years.
