Charles City School Fees Largely Unchanged for 2022-23 School Year

Fees in the Charles City School District will be largely unchanged for the upcoming school year.

During their regular meeting Monday night, the School Board approved keeping the majority of fees the same price for the 2022-23 school year as they were this past school year. The lone exceptions being the cost of activity passes, with the student pass going to $40 and the adult pass up to $70, both an increase of $3.

Fees staying the same, but will be charged for the first time since March of 2020, are those for the school lunch program. All school meals were free for students during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years as the federal government covered the costs as part of COVID relief. That program, which also included summer lunches, will end June 30th. Thus, students will resume paying for breakfast and lunch when classes resume August 24th.
