North Iowa Airports to Receive Almost $3 Million in Grants
North Iowa airports have been awarded almost $3 million in state government funding.
The Iowa DOT is announcing $100 million in grant awards for Iowa commercial airports. The Iowa Commercial Aviation Infrastructure Fund (ICAIF) aggressively targets some of Iowa’s largest aviation system needs: terminal buildings, parking structures, and hangar infrastructure at commercial service airports.
Iowa’s eight commercial service airports were eligible to apply for projects that support modernization and expansion. All applications were approved and fully allocated including almost $1.6 million to construct T-hangar units at the Mason City Municipal Airport. The Waterloo Regional Airport will receive almost $2.2 million to construct a parking lot canopy system for a ticketing lane and pay stations, as well as a parking structure for disabled and high-use parking spaces.
