Early Voting Still An Option for June 7 Primary Election

Casting a ballot prior to next Tuesday’s June 7th Primary election is still available to voters.

Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr says options for early voting include in-person voting in the auditor’s office of your county courthouse.

Carr notes that normal auditor’s office hours at the Floyd County Courthouse are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but for the primary election, her office will also be open until 5 p.m. this Friday and Monday, plus 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday.

Carr says absentee ballots must be submitted at the auditor’s office by Tuesday or they won’t be counted.

Carr reminds voters that on election day, ballots must be cast in your assigned precinct, which may have changed based on the new supervisor districts for Floyd County supervisors and/or redistricting for state senate and house seats. She says voters should have received a postcard in the mail with your precinct listed. If not and you have questions on where you vote, contact the auditor’s office.
