North Butler School District Seeks $12.6 Million Bond Approval Tuesday

For the second time in a year-and-a-half, residents in the North Butler School District will vote on a bond referendum that would pay for upgrades and improvements at school buildings in Allison and Greene.

The previous bond referendum, at just over $19 million, was soundly defeated in September of 2021, with three-quarters of the ballots being NO votes. Superintendent Mark Olmstead says they’ve trimmed the latest bond referendum up for vote Tuesday by almost $7 million.

Olmstead says the bond is needed to cover some of the most basic needs at the elementary school in Allison.

Olmstead says the middle/high school in Greene also needs overdue upgrades.

Olmstead says the bond would also cover renovations and upgrades for the building’s restrooms and locker rooms.

The bond referendum must receive at least 60% majority YES votes to pass.
