Packers and Vikings Lock Horns to Open Season

The Vikings and the Packers open the season at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis today. At halftime the score is

 

It was the team in purple that drew first blood with a 78 yard touchdown to Justin Jefferson. Green Bay took no time trying to claw back into it, Aaron Rodgers fired a deep shot to rookie Christian Watson who had badly beaten his defender, but Watson was unable to hold onto the ball and Green Bay would eventually punt. Green Bay had a golden opportunity in early in the second quarter to draw even, but fell short on a four and goal at the one yard line. Minnesota turned that into a long drive and capped it with a field goal for make the score 10-0 at the 3:54 mark of the second quarter.

The Vikings tacked on another touchdown with 35 seconds left in first half as Jefferson scored on a 36 yard catch and run. We’ve reached halftime. The Vikings lead 17-0.
