North Iowa Beaches Tagged with E-Coli Advisories

The Iowa DNR has issued advisories for several Iowa beaches linked to an E. Coli presence, including four in north and northeast Iowa.

Due to the increased levels of E Coli, the advisory issued Friday, June 10th cautions that swimming is not recommended at Backbone Beach near Dundee in Delaware County and Beed’s Lake Beach near Hampton in Franklin County.

The DNR has also issued a microcystin-related advisory for McIntosh Woods Beach at Clear Lake and Ventura in Cerro Gordo County. George Wyth Beach at Waterloo in Black Hawk County is under a microcystin and E. coli advisory.

The DNR advises avoiding these waters until further notice.

Additional information can be found on the Iowa DNR website.
