Northeast Iowa Man Facing Additional Child Sexual Abuse Charges

A northeast Iowa man arrested earlier this week for sexually abusing a child is now facing additional charges.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Matthew Nordrum of Clermont taken into custody Tuesday and was charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony. He’s accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of five while the child was at his home in Clermont. 

Thursday, the sheriff’s office filed more charges against Nordrum and his involvement with three additional victims. A second count of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, was levied against Nordrum as well as one count of indecent exposure in the presence of a minor, a serious misdemeanor.

Nordrum remains in the Fayette County Jail in West Union on a $25,000 cash only bond. 

Sheriff Marty Fisher states this investigation is still ongoing and more charges could be filed. The Department of Human Services is assisting in this investigation.
