Charles City Fire Chief Resigns, Will Lead Cerro Gordo Emergency Management

The resignation of the Charles City Fire Chief Eric Whipple has been officially announced.

We first reported last week that Whipple submitted his resignation September 22nd. Thursday, the City issued a statement on Whipple’s departure with his final day as Fire Chief on November 2nd.

Whipple has served Charles City as Public Safety Dispatcher, Career Firefighter and the last 10 years as Fire Chief.  

Whipple says he’s leaving the fire station to become the new Emergency Management Director for Cerro Gordo County.

 

Whipple adds that he’ll start his new position on November 14th.

The City of Charles City thanked Whipple for his many years of service and dedication to the community.
