North Iowa Man Sentenced on Sexual Abuse Charges

A north Iowa man will serve up to a decade and a half behind bars after pleading guilty to sexual abuse charges.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Joseph Michael Kruse from Protivin in February on two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, Class C felonies; two counts of incest, Class D felonies; and two counts of indecent exposure, serious misdemeanors. 

Court records show the arrest and charges stem from incidents that occurred in December of 2017 and November of 2021.

Kruse has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and Monday was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined almost $3,000.
