Little Sprouts Child Center Testament to New Hampton Community

It’s been just over two months since Great Plays Daycare in New Hampton relocated and was renamed as Little Sprouts Children’s Center.

In its previous spot on South Linn Avenue, the daycare could only accommodate 54 kids and had an 18-month waiting list. When they moved into a section of First United Methodist Church on June 2nd, their capacity almost doubled to 99.

Director Amy Ameling says it wouldn’t be possible without the church and the community stepping up.

Ultimately, Ameling says the move and expansion is all about the kids.

Ameling says there are few slots still open to add kids and they’re also looking to add more staff.

Last Friday (08.12), the center also got a visit from U.S. Senator Joni Ernst.
