Charles City Police Host National Night Out Tuesday

To promote positive police-community partnerships, the Charles City Police Department invites the public to National Night Out from 4 to 7 p.m. this evening in Central Park,

CCPD Community Resources Officer Duane Ollendiek says everything is free, including a meal of hot dogs, chips and water. The event also features giveaways. 

Ollendiek says there will also be inflatables, train rides, face painting, the Charles City Fire Department waterball, and the Annual Marzen Memorial Bike Rodeo.

Ollendiek adds the highlight of the festivities should occur at about 4:30 p.m. with the arrival of the MercyOne AirMed helicopter landing in the parking lot just south of Central Park.
