Two People Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in North Iowa
Two people were killed and a third person was injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday night about 15 miles northwest of Mason City.
The Iowa State Patrol said the wreck occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Friday. A GMC Sierra driven by 31-year-old Paul Swann of Fertile was northbound on Fir Avenue, near 330th Street, when he lost control of the vehicle and rolled in the ditch
Swann and a passenger, 33-year-old Cody Keeney, also of Fertile, were killed in the crash. Another passenger, 31-year-old Jens Berggren of Mason City, was airlifted to an unidentified hospital with unspecified injuries.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Clear Lake EMS, Mason City EMS, Hanlontown Fire Department First Responders also assisted at the scene.
