RAGBRAI 2022 Underway

RAGBRAI 2022 enters its second day today.

Riders set out Sunday from the Missouri River at Sergeant Bluff and made their first overnight stop last night in Ida Grove. Bikers will stay overnight in Pocahonta tonight, then Emmetsburg tomorrow night.

Day four Wednesday will feature RAGBRAI’s first 100-mile “century ride” since 1985 before riders spend the night in Mason City. Thursday its the route’s shortest day at just over 47 miles to Charles City, then its on West Union Friday with the final leg of the ride Saturday to Lansing and the Mississippi River.

Charles City is the second biggest host city on this year’s RAGBRAI route, which will cover some 430 miles from border to border. Charles City has the most overnight RAGBRAI experience on this year’s route, having also hosted overnight stops in 1982, 1996, 2002, 2010 and 2017.

Mason City is the largest overnight host city on this year’s route and hosted riders previously in 2014 and 1985. West Union hosted RAGBRAI previously in 2005 and 1987.
