New Hampton Native Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Dubuque

A New Hampton native has been identified as the man killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday in Dubuque.

Dubuque Police say 20-year-old Danny Hammel, son of John and Patty Hammel of New Hampton, died from injuries he suffered in the wreck shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday. He was initially transported from the scene on Carter Road to UnityPoint Finley Hospital in Dubuque, where he died.

A Celebration of Life service for Hammel is scheduled for 11 a.m. this Saturday at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton. More details on services for Hammel can be found below:

 

Daniel “Danny” Hammel, age 20 and the son of John and Patty Hammel of New Hampton, Iowa died on Sunday, July 3, 2022, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Dubuque.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be a light lunch severed following the service at the funeral home. Online condolences for the Hammel family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com
