Fireworks Safety Begins with Adult Supervision

Lighting up fireworks, big or small, can be dangerous if not handled safely and correctly.

Charles City Fire Chief Eric Whipple says any fireworks activity should involve adult supervision at all times.

New Hampton Police Chief Zach Nosbisch also cautions against the hazard sparklers can pose after their light goes out. 

And, with fireworks as well as recreational fires popular this holiday weekend, both Nosbisch and Whipple say keep a water supply nearby, just in case.
