Kids Day Friday in Charles City Offers Fun Across Town

Kid’s Day 2022 helps get the 4th of July weekend celebration in Charles City  into full swing this Friday.

Activities are presented by Soifer Family McDonalds and First Citizens Bank, whose Aubrey Zajic (zeitz) invites kids to Central Park Friday morning.

Kids are encouraged to decorate themselves and their bikes, scooters, or wagons to be considered for parade awards. McDonald’s will serve their traditional hamburger, chips, and a drink in the park for just $2 per meal until sold out starting at 11 a.m. There’s also the ABC TV-6 KAAL’s Weather Lab stage show at noon.

Following Kids Day, the 4th of July festivities continue with Party in the Park from Friday night from 5 to 9 PM in Central Park featuring musical act the Chocolate Crackers.

KAAL WEATHER LAB TO HEADLINE KID’S DAY

 

Kid’s Day 2022 is set for Friday, July 1 and will feature ABC6 KAAL’s Weather Lab stage show, sponsored by Quality Auto Service. The stage show will begin promptly at 12 PM in the bandshell with KAAL’s Chris, Jim, and Spencer sharing their knowledge and passion for science through fun experiments. DJ Tad will keep kids dancing throughout the morning from registration to performances by the Charles City High School Dance Team and Drumline to prize drawings, games, and lunch. 

 

Registration begins in Charles City’s Central Park at 10 AM; the first 600 registered kids will receive free goody bags compliments of First Citizens Bank and Soifer Family McDonald’s. The kids only parade will start at 10:30 sharp from the corner of Main and Kelly Streets and will be led by Charles City’s police force. Kids are encouraged to decorate themselves and their transportation (bikes, scooters, wagons, etc.) to be considered for ‘Most Patriotic, Best Decorated, and Most Artistic’ parade awards. 

 

Families are welcome to enjoy unlimited free games from 11 AM-12 PM in Central Park courtesy of CUSB Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Citizens Bank, Soifer Family McDonald’s, Charles City Fire Department, The Bridge Church, and more. Additionally, McDonald’s will be serving their traditional hamburger, chips, and a drink in the park for just $2 per meal until sold out starting at 11 AM. 

 

Other activities include bowling at the Comet Bowl for $2.50 per game from 10 AM- 2 PM, a free swim at the public pool from 3-5 PM, and $2 mini golf at Bayou Bend from 1-3 PM. Party in the Park is happening from 5-9 PM in Central Park featuring musical act the Chocolate Crackers.
