17-Year-Old Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Abuse, False Imprisonment Charges
A 17-yea-old male accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while he and another teen held her against her will has pleaded not guilty.
Chad Chapline was charged last month with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony; and one count of false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor. Chapline and another 15-year-old male allegedly held the female victim hostage and sexually assaulted her multiple times in a treehouse in southwest Waverly. The two males also threatened the girl with a knife while they held her captive for almost 48 hours between May 14th and 15th.
Police say that before the alleged assaults, the two teens fled the campus of LSI-Bremwood, which provides mental health and other services for children and youth.
Court documents show Chapline entered a not guilty plea on Monday and demanded his right to a speedy trial. Chapline is currently being held in the Hardin County Jail.
