Breaking: North Iowa Juveniles Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Female Victim

Authorities have arrested two north Iowa juveniles for sexually assaulting a female victim over the course of a 48-hour period.

According to court records, Waverly police have charged 17-year-old Chad Chapline of Ogden and another 15-year-old male on charges of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony. They are also charged with false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor, after allegedly holding a teen against her will last weekend.

In a criminal complaint, officials said Chapline repeatedly threatened the victim with a knife, saying he didn’t want to use it, but would if he needed to. The alleged assaults reportedly spanned from Saturday to Sunday in a treehouse in a wooded area in southwest Waverly after absconding from LSI-Bremwood Campus.

KCRG is reporting that Chapline is being held at the Allamakee County Jail in Waukon pending his court appearances, while the younger boy is being held at the Eldora Juvenile Detention Facility.

A waiver hearing will determine whether he will face charges as an adult or remain in the juvenile court system.
