Charles City Fine Arts Performance Center Receives Fundraising Challenge

Efforts to raise funding to build a new performing arts center in Charles City is getting a shot in the arm.

Bob Freund is originally from Chicago, but has been in Charles City since 1972 when he came to work for then-Salisbury Industries. Freund, who’s daughter, Missy Freund, served on the Charles City School Board, is now retired himself and challenges his fellow citizens to join him in contributing to the project.

CPA Larry Pump, who serves as accountant and bookkeeper for the group, “Friends of Fine Arts,” advises potential donors to first consult with your tax advisors. He says checks are also welcome and can be made to the “Charles City Civic Foundation” or “The Auditorium Fund.”
