NIACC Offers Tornado Class in Charles City

This Sunday will mark the 54th anniversary of the infamous EF5 tornado that devastated Charles City on May 15th, 1968.

Taking a closer look at that massive twister, the Charles City NIACC Center will host a special class this Wednesday evening titled, “Charles City’s F5: Can or Will It Happen Again?”

Meteorologist Chris Nelson will lead the class from 5 to 8 p.m. to help attendees better understand the weather dynamics of that day. You’ll hear why it was so rare and whether it could happen again. He’ll also address severe weather safety tips to keep you and your family safe.

Tuition for the class is $25 and registration will be accepted up until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Registration can be done by visiting the NIACC Center in Charles City or by calling 641-422-4358.
