Charles City Interim Superintendent Officially Hired

The hiring of an interim Superintendent for the Charles City School District was made official Monday night.

During their regular meeting, School Board Superintendent Pat Rottinghaus set the stage for to approve a contract for the hiring of Anne Lundquist.

The motion passed 5-0 and Lundquist will take over as the district’s interim Superintendent on July 1st. She will succeed outgoing Superintendent Mike Fisher, who is resigning, effective June 30th, to become the new superintendent of schools in his hometown of Oskaloosa.

Lundquist is currently a classroom teacher at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Charles City, but has previously served as superintendent at Red Lake Schools in Minnesota and worked for the Minnesota Department of Education.

The School Board Monday night also approved contracts with senior leadership personnel that includes a 2.5% pay increase; and with administrative support staff with a $1 per hour increase next school year.
