More North Iowa Road Projects Starting Monday

Short term road projects are coming to Chickasaw and Butler counties next week.

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office says the entrance ramp to and exit ramp from southbound U.S. Highway 218 at Nashua will be closed for daytime asphalt resurfacing work beginning Monday. The daytime closures are expected to be in place for a week and message signs will be used to provide travelers with advance notice of the closures.

Also starting Monday, DOT New Hampton says bridge approach overlay projects on two bridges in Butler County will cause daytime lane closures. They include Iowa Highway 14. four miles south of Iowa Highway 3, and Iowa 188, just south of Clarksville. When lanes are closed, flaggers and pilot cars will assist motorists through the work zones. The projects are scheduled to be completed by Wednesday.

DOT New Hampton adds that a hot-mix asphalt resurfacing and roadway widening project on Iowa Highway 150 from Vinton to Independence in Benton and Buchanan counties will require lane closures beginning Wednesday, May 11 and is expected to last until late June.
