Spring Cleanup Ends in Charles City Saturday

The 10-day run for Spring Cleanup in Charles City comes to an end Saturday.

Since April 28th, drop offs at the Shaw Avenue dumpsite have been accepted every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Residents are limited to one truckload of junk per household, however, City Administrator Steve Diers says they’re also doing a trial run this year by accepting tires.

Diers also reminds citizens that some drop off restrictions apply.

Thursday, Charles City Rotary and Lions Club members, along with high school students helped pick up items from 16 residents who didn’t have the means to take their junk to the Shaw Avenue dumpsite.

Residents must bring a copy of their water bill or other mail with you to the dumpsite that proves you’re a Charles City resident.
