Lawler will serve as the Meeting Town as RAGBRAI makes the trek from Charles City to West Union for the overnight stay on July 29th.
Jason Byrne with the Lawler RAGBRAI committee says preparations include a walkthrough visit from ride officials prior to their next Community Meeting this Sunday at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Byrne says regardless of the route into Lawler, they still have to be ready for a large influx of traffic and people.
Byrne adds that a final walkthrough with RAGBRAI officials is scheduled for May 11th and a trial ride through is slated for June 10th.
“Get Looney in Lawler” is the theme for their RAGBRAI stop and Byrne says they’ll have five to six people in Looney Tunes character costumes, which have not yet been determined.
