A Mason City woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash about 10 miles southeast of Mason City Tuesday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the fatal wreck occurred on 210th Street, just west of the intersection with Thrush Avenue at about 7 a.m. Tuesday. 54-year-old Pamela Okerstrom was driving a Nissan Juke eastbound on 210th when her vehicle went off the road for unknown reasons. The vehicle then entered the ditch and vaulted a driveway, becoming airborne before landing and rolling.
Okerstrom was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and Mason City Fire Department and EMS also responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
