Northeast Iowa Woman Charged with Stealing from Her Employer

A northeast Iowa woman has been arrested on felony theft and fraud charges for stealing from her employer.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says 50-year-old Heather Migliore of Waukon was taken into custody just before 9 a.m. Friday morning. Authorities were contacted in March to investigate Migliore for stealing over $10,000 from her employer in Decorah.

Court records show Migliore admitted to taking business funds for her own personal use through company checks using the owner’s signature stamp to cash the checks. She’s also accused of using the company credit card for personal purchases and deleting records from the company computer system to cover her tracks.

Migliore has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony; first-degree theft, first-degree fraudulent practices and unauthorized use of a credit card over $10,000, all Class C felonies; and forgery, a Class D felony.
