Today (03.24) is the final day for the public to participate in a survey regarding the search for a new superintendent for the Charles City School District.
Current Superintendent Mike Fisher announced his resignation on March 4th to accept a new position as superintendent of schools in his hometown of Oskaloosa. Fisher’s resignation will take effect on June 30th.
The School Board selected Grundmeyer Leader Services, who helped bring Fisher to Charles City in 2018, to lead the search for his replacement. Grundmeyer is coordinating the public survey, which saw some 150 surveys completed within the first 24 hours of the survey becoming available on the school website on March 11th. The survey closes today. The deadline for volunteers to sign up to be part of the community interview team is also today.
The application period for Superintendent candidates is open through April 3rd, with the School Board slated to review applications the week of April 11th. Interviews with semi-finalists for the position are scheduled for the week of April 18th and the district will conduct formal interviews for finalists the week of April 25th.
