Remains of Body Found Last Summer in Mitchell County Identified

Authorities have identified the remains of a body found by a hiker last summer northwest of Osage.

In a joint media release, Mitchell County Sheriff Gregory Beaver and Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals say the deceased is 29-year-old Angela Nicole Bradbury of rural Cerro Gordo County. A hiker on the Greenbelt Trail near Mitchell discovered the human remains nearby on Monday, July 12, 2021. Bradbury had been missing since April 6, 2021.

At the time the body was found, authorities quickly noted that, “law enforcement can say with certainty that it is not Jodi Huisentruit, the former television news anchor missing from Mason City since June of 1995.”

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner also participated in the joint investigation. All agencies continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Bradbury’s disappearance.

Anyone with information about Ms. Bradbury is asked to contact the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office (at 641.732.4740) or the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office (at 641.421.3000.)
