The Charles City School District has taken its first steps to finding a new superintendent.
Current Superintendent Mike Fisher submitted his resignation at Monday night’s regular board meeting, effective June 30th. Fisher will take over as Superintendent for his hometown Oskaloosa School District starting July 1st.
The Charles City School Board met in special session Wednesday night to decide which of three firms they would hire to lead the search for Fisher’s replacement. The board selected Grundmeyer Leader Services, the same company that helped bring Fisher to Charles City when he was hired in 2018.
Other search firms considered were McPherson and Jacobson, based in Omaha, Nebraska, and GR Recruiting, which was responsible for getting Fisher his new job in Oskaloosa.
Board President Pat Rottinghaus was expected to have a contract with Grundmeyer in place this week to get the search for Fisher’s replacement started as soon as possible.
