Parks and recreation areas in Charles City are getting an in-depth look for future planning.
Park-Rec Executive Director Tyler Mitchell says they continue to review and compile results from a survey of the City’s outdoor facilities to help develop a master plan.
Mitchell says the comprehensive look at the City’s parks has been needed for a while and will help plan better financially down the road, especially when it comes to larger items, like the future of the swimming pool at Lions Field. He says they’ll soon be accepting RFPs for an in-depth pool study.
Mitchell adds that there are also future projects smaller in scale, such as resurfacing the pickleball courts and getting some parks new playground equipment.
