Charles City Watershed Project Meeting Rescheduled for Wednesday

Absentee farmland owners and their tenants are invited to an informational meeting Wednesday for the Charles City Watershed Project.

That’s Doug Johnson with the Floyd County Soil and Water Conservation District and coordinator for the Watershed Project, which covers about 35,000 acres mostly west and north of Charles City. He describes the objectives of the project.

Johnson adds that property owners in Charles City are also invited to join the meeting.

The watershed meeting Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the NIACC Center in Charles City is free and includes a sack lunch. No pre-registration is required, but you can contact Johnson to reserve your spot.

*This meeting was rescheduled from February 22 because of inclement weather.  Here’s our original story with contact info
