Superintendent Resignation, Budget Highlight Charles City School Board Meeting Tonight

In addition to the expected resignation of Superintendent Mike Fisher, the 2022-23 fiscal year budget is also on the agenda for tonight’s Charles City School Board meeting.

District Director of Finance Evan Marten is slated to give a presentation on the budget, after which, the board will schedule a date and time for a public hearing on the certified budget, likely to be set for the March 28th school board meeting. The board is also expected to set a special meeting time to determine which search firm the district will utilize in the hiring process to find its next superintendent.

The board is also scheduled to consider and possibly accept bids of about $140,000 to purchase an activity bus in black and orange school colors; and combined bids of about $225,000 for repairs to the roof of Washington Elementary School.

The meeting starts this evening at 5:30 in the high school library.

Also this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. the Charles City Community is invited to come tour the new Central Services facility located at 1204 1st Avenue.
