Floyd Co. Extension Offers “On Their Own & OK” Youth Workshops

FThe Floyd County ISU Extension office is offering two, one-day workshops to provide youth a guide for staying home alone.

Youth Coordinator Erica Holliday says “On Their Own and OK” could help your child prepare if you’re a parent considering whether your 4th through 6th grader is ready to stay home alone for brief periods of time.

Holliday says children attending a workshop will leave with new skills, take-home activities, and added confidence and maturity.

Holliday notes that “On Their Own & OK” are not classes that “certify” your child is ready to be home alone and that the first step in the entire process is talking to your child about their fears and your parental expectations.

Workshops are available to any area youth on Tuesday, March 15th, in Charles City or Thursday, March 17th in Marble Rock.  Registration is preferred by Friday, March 4th.

Register online by MARCH 4 at https://v2.4honline.com!
