Two People Arrested Over the Weekend at Northeast Iowa Hotel

Two people were arrested at a northeast Iowa hotel over the weekend.
In a joint investigation with the Decorah Police Department, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says they received information from West Union Police that a wanted subject was staying at the Super 8 in Decorah. Shortly after noon Saturday, law enforcement found the subject, 48-year-old Kenneth Bostic, hiding in the cover of a box spring under a mattress in a hotel room and arrested him on eight outstanding warrants. Decorah Police also charged Bostic with interference with official acts and violation of a no-contact order, both simple misdemeanors.
While apprehending Bostic, authorities also arrested 36-year-old Brandy Phend of West Union for aiding in hiding Bostic’s presence in the hotel room she had rented in her name and for lying to law enforcement. Phend was charged with being an accessory after the fact, an aggravated misdemeanor.
