New Hampton’s Heartland Days is recognizing a longtime business as grand marshals for this year’s event.
Schueth Ace Hardware started in New Hampton a century ago and also has a store in Charles City. Current owners, Jackie Perkins and Doug Schueth, will represent the store as the 2022 Heartland Days grand marshals.
The New Horizons Chamber surprised Perkins with the announcement Monday morning at their New Hampton store.
Doug Schueth says he too was caught off guard.
This year’s Heartland Days in New Hampton are scheduled for June 10-12.
