DNR Public Meetings Recap Hunting, Trapping Seasons, Discuss Possible Rule Changes

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a series of town hall-style meetings this week where local staff will provide updates on recently completed hunting and trapping seasons, discuss possible changes to hunting and trapping rules and regulations, and address other topics as requested.

Todd Bishop, chief of the Iowa DNR’s Wildlife Bureau, says, “We want people to come out to these meetings, listen to the season reviews, ask questions and hear directly from our staff. Part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing potential rule changes and collecting feedback as we work through the rules process.”

Recap sessions in the north Iowa area Tuesday (02.22) night include a meeting at Water’s Edge Nature Center near Algona and the Waverly Public Library in Waverly, both at 6 p.m. and at the Iowa DNR Wildlife Office near Ventura at 7 p.m.  There’s also a 7 p.m. meeting Wednesday (02.23) night at Northeast Iowa Dairy & Agriculture Foundation (Dairy Center), in Calmar.

The meetings are free and open to the public.
