Amazing Grace Church is asking for the public’s help with donations to victims of an apartment complex fire in Charles City.
Charles City Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 701 Milwaukee Street shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday night. All residents in the building at the time of the fire were able to evacuate, but there was extensive damage to the roof and upstairs of the home.
The church says they have been contacted to seek donations of clothing for one adult male with a six-year-old boy, one adult female and another adult male. Male sizes include large and extra-large foe clothing and 11-12 in shoes; female sizes are double-XL for tops ad 20 for pants and shoes size 7-8; and boys clothes in sizes 7-8 and shoes in size 1 are welcome.
Donations of toys and food gift cards are also being collected.
