One Person Killed in UTV, SUV Collision in Northeast Iowa (updated)

One person is dead following a UTV/SUV collision in northeast Iowa Monday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred north of Waukon on Highway 9 near Lycurgus Road shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday. 74-year-old John Regan of Waukon was driving a 2014 John Deere UTV east on the westbound shoulder of the highway when he turned in front of a 2013 GMC Terrain driven by 82-year-old Lloyd Colsch of New Albin, which was also headed east. The SUV crashed into the UTV, killing Regan.
The State Patrol says Regan was not wearing a seatbelt. Colsch was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured while his passenger, 75-year-old Sheila Colsch of New Albin, was transported by Waukon Ambulance Service to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Waukon Fire Department, Waukon Ambulance, Hennessy Towing, and Gundersen Air Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
