Contract Between Nashua and Chickasaw County Sheriff’’s Office Still Being Worked Out

Details of an agreement to have the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office provide law enforcement services in Nashua continue to be fine tuned.

At the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday (01.17), Sheriff Marty Hemann outlined preliminary parameters of the Nashua contract.

Supervisor Tim Zoll asked Hemann the impacts on the number of service hours by events like Nashua’s “Water Over the Dam Days.”

The contract had a tentative start date of July 1st, but supervisors discussed having it moved to commence July 15th because it would make it easier on the budgeting for the City of Nashua.

Hemann said he will send the modified agreement to the City of Nashua for their additional review. Once the details are finalized, the contract could be signed later in February.

The County  has similar one-year contracts with Sumner and Fredericksburg.
